If you found the headline confusing, don’t worry. Because while next week’s Rock Band Music Store update offers over 40 tracks for download, only two of them are really new! Why? Because Harmonix is releasing two Kenny Loggins songs, I’m Alright and a Pro guitar and bass upgrade compatible version of Footloose (it’s Keyboard compatible too), and re-releasing Green Day’s Geek Stink Breath, Nice Guys Finish Last and Hitchin’ a Ride as a three track pack, plus the full 21st Century Breakdown, American Idiot and Dookie albums to players who don’t already own Green Day Rock Band. Hence, we’re really only looking at two new songs.
The tracks will be available for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Wii on the 13th, except in Europe, where the PS3 update will be its usual day late. All of the tracks will be available individually, for their usual $2 USD equivalent, while the Pro up will be its usual $1 USD equivalent per compatible track. Green Day Pack 04, 21st Century Breakdown, American Idiot and Dookie will be available for USD equivalents of $5.49, $19.99, $17.99, and $19.99 respectively. Finally, if you’ve got the Wii version, the 21st Century Breakdown tracks are only available for individual download, not as a full album.
